Rainbow moonstone, also known as white labradorite, is actually a variety of labradorite that exhibits flashy colours and rainbows throughout. Rainbow moonstone deposits can be found in Sri Lanka, Australia, Mexico, Madagascar, Poland and India.
Known for its soothing energy and its ability to restore balance, people say that having this gemstone is like having a rainbow in your pocket because of the hope and optimism it brings. Ancient Roman soldiers believed moonstones absorbed the rays of the moon. In the specific case of rainbow moonstones their first spiritual meaning was protection, with traveller's and Roman legion soldiers carrying these stones when they travelled at night.
