The blue violet crystals were discovered by a Masai Tribesmen in Merelani, Northern Tanzania at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in 1967. Blue Tanzanite was believed to be a gift from the Gods. The exquisite purple-blue Tanzanite colour is the root of the Tanzanite meaning. Tanzanite is a cool blue to purple gemstone that soothes and calms.
